woventreasures Workshop:  SILK SPINNING

Instructor:  Sara Lamb   Instructor Information:  Sara Lamb is a longtime weaver, handspinner, and dyer. She maintains a working studio in a yurt in her Northern California back yard, and she teaches at fiber conferences worldwide. Sara is the author of Woven Treasures, The Practical Spinners Guide – Silk, and Spin to Weave as well as the DVDs, Spinning Silk, and Spin to Weave. Her work has appeared in Spin Off, Handwoven, Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot, and numerous other books and publications.

Time:  9am – 4pm

Cost:  Members*: $88;  Nonmembers: $138  *Supported by the Sonni Wendt Memorial Fund

Materials Fee:  paid by student to Instructor – to be determined

Level:  Need to have own equipment in good working order and know how to use it.

Maximum # of students:  10

Workshop Description:  Silk yarns can be spectacular when created specifically for the technique and product, whether it’s weaving, knitting or embroidery.

Materials:  Spinning wheel extra bobbins, lazy kate. Spindles are fine, several weights/sizes are often helpful but not necessary.
