Tucson Wool Festival

Start:
April 9, 2011
Address:
Tucson, AZ, United States

Join us for the third annual Tucson Spring Shearing Wool Festival! Tour a working fiber farm and meet an exotic mix of llamas, angora goats, alpacas, Merino, Shetland, and Rambouillet sheep. See shearing, meet fiber artists who are demonstrating their art, try your hand at a workshop, or shop wool vendors from across the country. Participate in a Community Freeform Sheep-to-Shawl event for charity. A handspun woven rug will be raffled with the proceeds going to benefit the Casa Maria Kitchen in Tucson. This event is free and open to the public. Families, community groups and anyone interested in learning more about the fiber arts and animal husbandry are welcome. Activities begin at 9 a.m. on April 9, 2011, and conclude at 3 p.m. Call 520-572-3758 or email jmarckathy@aol.com for more information, or view the latest Tucson Spring Shearing Wool Festival info at www.uniquedesignsbykathy.com. Animal tours are at 10 a.m. and noon.
