THSG will soon be moving to the DUNBAR CENTER located at 325 W. 2nd Street, two blocks south of Speedway and one block east of I-10. We will be renting from the Visual and Textile Arts of Tucson and will be the anchor Guild.

Our last General Guild Meeting at St. Phillips Church will be on on February 28.

The Dunbar Center is located in proximity to the Warehouse Arts District, the University of Arizona, the Tucson Museum of Art, and Downtown Tucson. It has an organized neighborhood coalition that is actively promoting arts and creative endeavors.

The ARIZONA DAILY STAR printed this article about the location of our future home: Dunbar Center Newspaper Article

Moving to Dunbar will enable the Guild and other VTAT members to be more actively engaged in Tucson’s arts and cultural community.

Moving to Dunbar will give THSG and VTAT  greater visibility, the potential to increase appreciation of fiber arts, and attract new members.

Moving to Dunbar will open up exciting new possibilities, for example, the opportunity to collaborate in joint projects with other arts and cultural organizations, and move forward with our goals to offer classes and open a boutique of member’s work.

Moving to Dunbar will give a permanent space for the Library -residing in the same room as our General Meetings. This will give members easy access to this wonderful resource.

We look forward to this next major step for our fiber arts community!
