TUCSON HANDWEAVER’S AND SPINNER’S GUILD
Due March 16, 2017
We are fortunate in our Guild to have many members who have not only been a source of inspiration to us all, but who have also given generously of their time message and friendship to the Guild over many years. It is not an easy task to decide which “Guild Treasures” to choose.
After deciding which members to celebrate, we will interview them and photograph them and collect some of their works which will be displayed at a General Meeting this spring.
Our presentation will focus on each Treasured member’s life history, interests and accomplishments in fiber arts. At this time, regular Guild Members will be given the opportunity to share stories and the impact our 2017 Treasures have had in their lives.
*In 2009 we honored Curt Dornberg, Nita Bilinsky, Marilyn Heck, Olga Neuts, Joan Jacobson, and the late Esther Hughes.
*In 2013 we honored Joan Ruane, Barbara Eychaner and the late Lynn Silberschlag.
This year we plan to add another three “Treasures” to
this distinguished list.
General considerations will include:
* Sustained and high quality service enhancing the reputation of the Guild
* Valued leadership and good role-modeling that reflects credit upon the Guild
* Specific achievement in an area of fiber arts
* Contributing to the growth and prosperity of the Guild
* Length of service
Benefits of a Lifetime Treasure to the Guild
* Recognition by the Guild as an exemplary member
* Exemption of dues
