Announcing a new exhibition & “happening”

Dear Friends   TWIST: The Art of Spinning by Hand is a new exhibition on contemporary hand spinning I am developing that will be a truly dynamic way to bring the art, craft, science, technology, and community experience of hand spinning to a wider audience. The exhibition includes a curated display of tools, fiber, art yarns, art, and art-to-wear by today’s most sought-after artists and makers, a Spin Lab (hands-on activity lab where you can learn to spin and experiment with fiber from plants and heritage breeds), and Spinning Our Yarns; Telling Our Stories (a collaborative artwork made from your hand spun yarns).   TWIST: The Art of Spinning by Hand will debut at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, Maryland, November 5 – December 17, 2016. It will available to travel to new venues in 2017.
SPIN AND SHARE YOUR YARNS AND STORIES!   Want to be part of the exhibition? Whether you are brand new to spinning or an accomplished spinner, you are welcome to participate by sharing your hand spun yarns as part of the exhibition!   The TWIST Exhibition Guidelines and Online Submission Form have all the information you need to spin and share your yarns as part of Spin Lab & Spinning Our Yarns; Telling Our Stories, and to stay informed about upcoming activities and events.
