Instructor Information: Bobbie Irwin has been weaving for 40 years. She’s been teaching for conferences, guilds, and shops since 1985, including numerous Midwest and Convergence conferences. She has contributed to Interweave Press publications for many years as a columnist, editorial assistant, and contributing editor, and is the author of three textile books. When not traveling, she enjoys playing “what if?” games on her looms in her Montrose, Colorado studio.

Workshop Description: Using a variety of inlay techniques, students will create pictorial patterns on an open-weave linen background. Transparencies have the pattern diversity of tapestry, but are easier, faster, and more economical. A transparency’s interaction with light gives added dimension. Students will learn a wide range of inlays as they create samplers suitable for hanging.  After completing two introductory samplers, participants weave small transparencies of their own design (no artistic skill needed).

Materials and Supplies: A materials and supply list will be sent to students in plenty of time before the class begins.

Registration opens to THSG Members: Wednesday, May 27, 2015 after the annual Stash Sale and May General meeting.

Registration opens to Nonmembers: Tuesday, June 2, 2015.

Registration Deadline:  Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
