Study Groups

We have various groups who meet September through May via hybrid meetings (both in person and via Zoom) to study topics of interest to them. Guests can attend a couple of meetings before they’ll be asked to become members. Please click on a topic below for further details.

Braids, Beads & Beyond – this group does things like bead weaving, kumihimo, braiding, etc.

Dyeing – this group focuses on dyeing fabric, often using natural methods

Felting – this group takes fibers and uses the technique of felting to make fabrics, often 3-D, for art purposes

Knitting and Crochet – use needles or hooks to create clothing and items for the home

Weaving (aka Porrey Cross) – this group uses looms, particularly multi-shaft looms – to make fabric

Rug Weaving – weave rugs on looms using various techniques

Spinning – make your own yarn, be it from cotton, silk, wool, whatever

Tapestry – this group uses tapestry techniques to make pictures 

Wearable Art – this group focuses specifically on clothing using a multitude of techniques
