The Tucson Handweavers and Spinners Guild was established in 1973. Guild members are weavers, spinners and fiber artists with a variety of interests including four and multi harness loom weaving of functional fabric, tapestry, basketry, spinning, felting, dyeing and more. Our members have a diversity of skills from beginner to award-winning artists and have contrasting goals including personal fulfillment and artistic presentation. The common bond is the exchange of ideas and a strong desire to educate others about fiber arts. The guild meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month from September to October and January to June. We will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of November and the 3rd Wednesday of December. Check the Calendar for more detailed information. The General Meetings are held in the St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church - Parish Hall, 3201 E. Presidio Rd. from 9:30 AM – 12: Noon. The featured weaving on this page is Brittlebush woven by Evelyn Britten. |
